Qsymia Review – The Truth About This Product.

A problem that I have noticed with many diet pills, is that when they lack a prescription to be obtained, there is more potential for adverse reactions to occur, because people aren’t being supervised in what they are taking. With Qsymia however, the official website repeatedly urges it’s potential customers to consult a physician, so as to avoid such occurrences. This makes me feel much more untroubled, because I am much too familiar with diet pills that make no mention of these sorts of issues.

This product has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which has me feeling a little bit more at ease than I’ve been with diet pills that haven’t met the standards set by the government body. There are far too many diet pills that are available for purchase that lack this.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that this is the greatest product available on the market. So what is this diet pill’s deal? Is it really that great or is it not? The following article will break it down.

What is it?

Qsymia is made of a combination of two separate drugs: phentermine and topiramate. Phentermine is a laboratory made substance, that has been used to help people quash their hunger cravings. Topiramate has been used traditionally to remedy seizures and migraines. When the two are combined however, they are used to quash appetite and sink the level of calories that have been ingested during the day.

Unlike other diet pills that are used to supplement a workout regimen or for people who are casually looking to lose a few pounds for the summer, Qsymia was made specifically to help people who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27 and over. As such, this product is only intended for people who are obese. There are Top Rated Products out there that are available for a wider audience than this product is meant for.

EDITOR'S TIP: Combine this supplement with a proven fat burner such as Sletrokor for better results.

The product asserts that people can lose up to four times the weight that the usually would with just exercising and dieting. However despite this, phentermine has been known to cause adverse reactions in users, so I don’t feel completely comfortable with this substance being in the mix. Additionally, topiramate has been linked to suicidal thoughts that have been reported in some users.

Who makes it?

Vivus is the company that is known for manufacturing Qsymia. This Mountain View, California based company is regarded to not only have its products sold in the United States, but across the ocean in Europe Union as well.

Unlike other health supplement companies, Vivus openly gasconades the clinical trials that support its products. The company is also very open as to revealing who their management team consists of, as well as their board of directors. The transparency that this company delivers does make me feel more at ease than other companies with information that is much harder to find.

Overall the company has a very informative website, which details the different sectors that it concentrates on, as well as other information that investors and other business partners may be interested in knowing as well.

Does Qsymia work?

As is the case with many other diet pills, if regular exercise and diet are not blended in with taking the pill itself, results will be found to be atypical. Qsymia is no different, as people who did not incorporate these two factors into their daily routine did not see the results they were yearning for.

That is not to say that this product was not without people who saw results. On the contrary, this product has helped some people reach their goals, albeit at a price. Many have complained of the side effects that are associated with taking this product. And that’s notwithstanding that this product has an advisory on it, stating that it may become habit forming to some users. If you are someone who has a history of alcohol and drug abuse, you may want to skip this product altogether.

While some people have seen success with this product, the negative reviews I have read in regards to adverse effects makes me unable to recommend this product.

Qsymia Ingredients and Dosage

Users are informed to take 1 capsule a day before breakfast.

*Measurements may vary according to capsule size*

  • Phentermine- 75-15 mg
  • Topiramate- 23-92 mg

Are there potential side effects?

Qsymia is a product that is chock full of potential side effects. Some of these side effects may affect the mental abilities of the user, and include memory problems, concentration issues, speech problems and confusion. In addition to this, Qsymia may also effect that mood of the users, their sleep patterns and may cause depression.

Acidity in the bloodstream may also rise due to Qsymia, which may result in kidney stones, fatigue and frailty of bones. Blood pressure levels may also be affected, especially if the user is already taking some form of medication for it. Moreover people are informed not to stop taking Qsymia too quickly, as this may result in seizures.

And this isn’t counting the serious side effects that the official website warns about! While taking Qsymia the heart rate is known to become elevated, which may also result in hypertension. In addition to this, Qsymia is known to contain topiramate, which has gained notoriety for causing suicidal thoughts in some persons. Women who are nursing, pregnant or who may soon become pregnant are not advised to take this product, as it may cause birth defects, such as cleft palate.

Top Rated Products are not known to have such a wide girth of side effects associated with them.

Even though this concoction is obtainable with a prescription, unlike what I thought going into this pill, there is still potential for side effects to emerge. The list of possible adverse reactions is by no means small, and is enough to make me wonder if this product really should be recommended to others.

There is some truth that through a consistent exercise and diet plan, along with this pill, people may see their weight begin to drop. However, I don’t think that this weight loss should happen at the cost of a person’s well being. Being that I have been reviewing health supplements for awhile, I can say that there are safer, cheaper options available to help people reach the target weight that they so desire.

Products that have been highly by our staff are recommended over side effect laden diet pills such as this one.
