Plexus Slim Review – Does it Really Work?
While I was in college, I knew a girl that was into this whole Multi Level Marketing (MLM) scheme. I honestly always knew something was up, but I liked her and went along with it. I wanted to believe in something that wasn’t there. I found out about what a load of crap everything was a bit later on, and ever since MLMs have left a bad taste in my mouth. So when I heard how that is essentially how this product works, I was more than a bit hesitant. Bad experiences usually cause skepticism to optimistic allegations.
Seeing the high price of Plexus Slim (a kit costs $134.95) brought back a memory of the days past. The font color and the gentle colors do make the concoction seem alluring, but I’m not sure if this time around I’m just going to go for something that has good looks. Plexus Slim is supposed to be a drink that helps you drop weight.
In the following article, I’ll break down exactly what this product is about.
Plexus Slim is a diet drink that asserts itself to be a natural product, that is additionally free of any stimulant influence. The product may supposedly quash hunger cravings and help with overall weight management, but those are only two of the five points that are highlighted.
Other focal points are that this may govern blood sugar, pressure and cholesterol levels. While these are all great points to address, I can’t help but feel that these are acting as a bit of a distraction. While awed by other features, users may forget that the whole point of this is supposed to be weight loss. Top Rated Products always stay close to their stated declarations.
From what I could ascertain from the website, it doesn’t seem possible to just get Plexus Slim by itself, as it comes in packages that also include two separate products known as a “Block” and a “Boost”. There is however also a sample version which goes for $12.95 and is supposed to last for 3 days. So if you don’t feel like throwing down the whole price up front, you don’t have to.
Plexus Worldwide is the manufacturer of its similarly named product, Plexus Slim. The company makes revenue by having people act as ambassadors who then sell the product on their own. This is how many MLMs generally operate; have some kind of product that people sell to others, while at the same time trying to get others to join. The hope is that eventually, people will make a lot of money
Personally I am not much of a fan of these kind of companies, as after a while, there may be more focus on making money than actually having a product that supports people in augmenting their overall well being.
The company however does not hide in the shadows as some other MLMs do, but instead it does offer tours of its Scottsdale, Arizona office for anyone that is interested.
The product declares that it may forestall sugars and starches from being ingurgitated by up to 48%, although where they came up with this number I have no idea. At no point are any studies provided that prove that this number is in any way an accurate representation of this product. This is unlike Top Rated Products, which always have data driven results backing them.
There are also allegations that Plexus Slim also works to decimate any thoughts of hunger, although again, there is no evidence to support this allegation either. While checking out the ingredient list, I found that there are only three ingredients in the proprietary blend; chromium, garcinia cambogia and green coffee bean extract.
While there is some truth that as humans we do need to consume miniscule amounts of the metal known as chromium, there is no real evidence that the ingredient may positively affect weight loss. Both garcinia cambogia and green coffee bean are also not known to aid people in shedding off pounds, despite the ingredients being frequently used in diet pills.
While there is a single study available which does show that this brew may help govern blood sugar levels in people that have a form of diabetes, any real results in regards to weight loss are not at all substantial. Because of this, I can’t really say that this product works.
When both companion substances are taken out of the equation, I am even less certain that this concoction does much of anything.
The official website does not feature any instructions as to how to take this product.
- Chromium polynicotinate- 200mcg
Proprietary Blend- 530mg
- Garcinia cambogia- N/A
- Green coffee bean- N/A
- Alpha lipoic acid- N/A
The creators of Plexus Slim like to gasconade that their concoction is free of any side effects. In spite of this, there are ingredients that may be known to cause some adverse reactions in users. For example, polydextrose may cause flatulence and abdominal bloating.
Garcinia cambogia, one of the key ingredients in this blend,is not known to be completely rid of adverse reactions either. Some users may experience headaches, nausea and digestive discomfort.
Women who are nursing or in stages of pregnancy are also not recommended to take this product, or in the very least, consulting with a doctor before use.
Researching this article took me back down memory lane. I remember when I was younger, really wanting to believe in a product that was similar to this. At the time, it was easier to ignore the lack of clinical trials, the high price. On the surface, it seemed that everything was alright. If you would just believe it was alright, that the product actually worked, that’s all you needed.
Now however I may be more jaded, but I’m not going to fall into the same loop again. With ingredients that don’t really do anything to the astronomical price, I recommend not getting into this product. It’s the choice I should have made years ago, and it’s the choice I advise now.
